    Service Dogs

A Service Dog helps a person with a disability lead a more independent life. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service dog is “a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.”

    Therapy Dogs

Therapy dogs are dogs who go with their owners to volunteer in settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. From working with a child who is learning to read to visiting a senior in assisted living, therapy dogs and their owners work together as a team to improve the lives of other people. Therapy dogs are not service dogs.

    Emotional Support Dogs

An emotional support dog is a type of dog that provides comfort to help relieve a symptom or effect of a person's disability. They may be trained for a specific owner, but they are NOT trained for specific tasks or duties to aid a person with a disability, and this is the main difference between ESAs and service dogs.

    Rehab Training

Helping you fix dangerous and stressful behaviors in your dog such as aggression and guarding. Also for dogs with specific fears that need desensitization. Resource guarding is when a dog reacts when they perceive a threat to a valuable resource in their possession. Likewise, it’s important for both you and your family to understand the often subtle signs of fear, anxiety, and stress that your dog is expressing.

      Social Responsability

Veteran K9 supports Be.A.S.T. Ministries Inc. closely and does whatever we can to help foster kids aging out of the system.

      Mission Statement

"SAVING ONE PERSON, ONE RESCUE AT TIME."

Our mission and our goal is to help as many people as we can with the needs that they have. We are a company strictly for the regular, every day working person. This is why it is so important to us that we can offer service dog training as well as therapy and emotional support dog training at a great price. We hope that we can help you!

      Value Added Services

Veteran K9, as many clients attest to, approaches dog training from all sides. What we mean by that, is training is not simply about correcting a dog's negative behavior; we teach the owners the psychology behind that behavior so that the owner is empowered to handle every new situation that comes from a relationship with their four-legged friend. Thus, giving owners more value in our services. Our goal is that, after your experience with us, you will never need a trainer again with your new experience.

The experience I had with this business and its trainers while acquiring a service animal was unparalleled. At no point did I feel marginalized or overlooked; instead, their communication was so effective and considerate that it significantly enhanced my overall satisfaction with the purchase. In fact, their honesty and efficiency have convinced me to consider acquiring another dog immediately. They deliver exactly as promised, with no unnecessary delays or complications. The paperwork was provided proactively, sparing me the need to even request it. This company and its team operate with remarkable efficiency; phone calls are returned within minutes, creating the impression that they can almost read your mind. Their need for minimal requests on my part is a testament to their extensive experience in providing service animals. They have streamlined the process to such an extent that it stands as the epitome of customer service excellence in this field. Opting for this firm for a service animal is a decision you won't regret, as they embody their commitment to excellence in every action. Their process is so well-organized that it seems inspired by visionary leaders like Elon Musk, ensuring a hassle-free experience in acquiring an ADA-compliant service animal. Their approach is not just about business; it's a heartfelt mission to improve lives, one person and one animal at a time.

Our foster dog, Honey, has a traumatic history resulting in difficulty engaging with other animals. Her fear response has made it difficult to place her in a forever home. At the advice of our dog rescue, we reached out to Josh for help. Once Josh evaluated Honey, he reassured us that she would be able to enjoy the company of other animals with consistent implementation of the tactics from four weekly training sessions. We began applying what we learned earnestly and saw an immediate improvement in Honey's confidence. Honey can now go on walks, passing other animals without adverse reactions, and will start attending Josh's dog daycare next week. We couldn't be happier with the service and outcome from our four training sessions with Josh and look forward to continuing to watch Honey thrive with continued socialization.

Veteran K9 LLC helped us save our fighting dogs! We have a 6 year old French bulldog (40 lbs), and 10 month old American Bulldog who was almost 100 lbs. They were no longer pack and fighting. It was a scary situation. We found another dog trainer (not Veteran K9 LLC) who on the first visit said there was no way we would be able to keep these two dogs together in the same house and one dog would have to be re-homed. We were absolutely devastated!! We reached out to Veteran K9 LLC. We told Josh about our hopeless situation and he was our last resort. Josh said with hard work, discipline and using his techniques, there was a chance we could re-train our pack. We had a few home visits at first, where Josh observed and got to meet our pups in a safe manner. He gave us homework and new rules of house. He would often check in with us to see how things were going, and answer any questions we had. He then explained and show examples of how our pack should work together. We had some ups and downs but we never gave up. We started attending pack walks as well as more in home visits. He shared videos, and shared process video of our pups progress. It was a constant communication process. We attended some online training classes to continue our training for our family. We are happy to announce our pack is back together, both the French bulldog and American are friends again our a home is back in order. We really felt hopeless and Josh and his team saved our family pack. It was well worth the investment and absolutely thrilled with the results. We are forever grateful.

I cannot say enough good things about Josh and his crew! My daughter needed a PSD and Josh looked high and low for the specific dog she needed. He came through with Ollie and now she and our daughter are living their best lives! Thank you so much Veteran K9 for all you do and for helping put the sparkle back in our daughter’s eyes! You are truly angels on earth and will always be our Ohana!

I am the Assistant Director of Oxford ARC. My team and I work along side Josh and his team weekly to improve the lives of our shelter dogs. Josh has helped us change and adjust our daily routines to enrich our dogs throughout the day, and help to modify their behavior to help increase their chances of being adopted. Not only does he work with our dogs, but he also conducts regular in-service with our team to help us better understand body language and what we can do to adjust some of our problem behaviors. He has adopted several dogs from our Resource Center for his clients, who are now working service dogs. Working with Josh has been a great benefit for both our dogs and our Team.

      We Love Rescues

Although we love all dogs and want to help owners and dogs become the pack they want to be, rescues have a special place in our hearts. Rescues are fully capable of learning and adopting a job, in fact, they thrive at having a purpose. This is why we ONLY use rescues as our dogs. These dogs are excited to have a pack that they can contribute to and they typically work to please their people after they realize they are going to a good home. If you would like more information about how to start the process, contact us today!
